RF Engineer III (Contract) (Location: Nashua, NH area) Top 3 skills the manager wants candidates to have: 1) Antenna theory 2) Antenna testing experience 3) Test Procedure creation experience Job Description: Design, develop, and analyze RF systems and components for defense and aerospace applications, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, and frequency converters. System Integration: Integrate RF systems into larger defense and aerospace platforms, such as aircraft, satellites, unmanned vehicles, or ground-based systems. Conduct testing and evaluation of Antennas and RF systems ensure compliance with performance specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues related to RF systems, including signal interference, noise, power limitations, and performance optimization. Frequency Planning and Management: Conduct frequency planning and management activities to ensure efficient and effective utilization of RF spectrum resources. Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, reports, and design documentation, to support development, manufacturing, and maintenance activities. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful integration of the Antennas . Compliance and Standards: Stay updated with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to RF engineering in the defense and aerospace sector. Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and specialized certifications are advantageous. At least 5 years of relevant RF Engineering experience needed for this role. RF Design Tools: Proficiency in using RF design and simulation tools, such as MATLAB, ADS (Advanced Design System), CST Microwave Studio, or similar software. RF Systems and Components: Strong understanding of antenna theory. Experience with antenna test ranges. Short field antenna testing experience. Testing and Measurement Equipment: Experience with Antenna/RF testing and measurement equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex RF system performance issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose effective solutions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Security Clearance: Depending on the specific role and organization, the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.
