Job DescriptionOverviewCandidates for Rigger will be trained in the following requirements: Selection and use of wire rope, chain and synthetic web slings, rigging hardware, and lifting devicesInterpretation of rated charts for rigging gearSafe rigging practices and proceduresHand and radio communications and the responsibilities of the Rigger in ChargeDetermination of weight and center of gravity of loadsSelection and use of hoists, chain falls and come-alongsLifting and Handling gear inspectionUsing the above acquired skills the rigger will be expected to support the following shipbuilding processes: Support the assembly and disassembly of machinery and equipment on and off the shipsResponsible for lifting, moving and positioning ships and shipyard machinery, equipment, structural parts and other heavy loadsRig nuclear componentsWorking under radiological controls (obtain and work with a TLD).
