Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Rigger JOB CODE: RGGRDIVISION: Onshore/Offshore/InternationalREPORTS TO: Foreman/Supervisor/SuperintendentFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptUPDATED DATE: June 23, 2022DEPARTMENT: Onshore/Offshore/InternationalPOSITION SUMMARYThe Rigger is responsible for aiding employees or clients in loading material, equipment and supplies in a safe manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving using hand and power toolsAttach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using appropriate bolts and clampsControl the movement of heavy equipment or material through narrow openings or confined spacesManipulate rigging lines, hoists and pulling gear to move or support equipment or materialsSignal or verbally direct individuals engaged in hoisting and moving loadsTest rigging equipment routinely Assist welders or fitters in grinding, leveling and preparing materials to be installedPerform fire watch when requiredMaintain clean working areas and practice good housekeepingDismantle, clean and return tools and equipment to proper place after useObey and follow all safety rules and policiesWear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent education1+ year rigging experience preferredBasic level written and communication skillsAbility to preform basic level mathematical skillsExperience operating equipment used in rigging proceduresMust be reliable and have good time management skillsFor new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screenFor new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy ServicesPHYSICAL DEMANDSStand – FrequentlySit – OccasionallyUse Hands – FrequentlyClimb – OccasionallyKneel – OccasionallyLift/Carry over – Frequently (up to 50 lbs.)Vision – Required (Must be able to pass vision exam per appropriate medical requirements)Hearing – Required (Must be able to pass an audio test per OSHA standards) WORKING CONDITIONSWet or Humid (non-weather) – OccasionallyWorking near moving mechanical parts – FrequentlyWorking in high places – OccasionallyExposed to fumes or airborne particles – FrequentlyExposed to toxic or caustic chemicals – NoneOutdoor weather conditions – FrequentlyRisk of electric shock – OccasionallyWork with explosives – NoneRisk of radiation – OccasionallyNoise Level – Very Loud
