Department/Unit:Risk ManagementWork Shift:Day (United States of America)Salary Range:$71612.39 - $110999.20Claims Management: Develop litigation strategies for management of claims work with outside counsel on engagement of experts life care planners structure brokers and settlement strategies.Establish claims files immediatelyConduct all interviews within specified timeframesWork with outside counsel on gathering information for defenseRespond to discovery demandsManage reserve process by reviewing case with Vice PresidentCheck adequacy of reserves by reviewing with defense counsel semi-annuallyTrack the litigation anticipate trial dates discovery dates disclosure dates accordance with Litigation Management GuidelinesManage expert retention according to established processScheduling internal and external to the office for related ligation meetings pre-depositions depositions trial relatedData Management:Assumes day to day responsibility for data entry of all claims/suits/potentials in StarsMaintains regulatory compliance with reporting/updating all MMERS/MMDCS within DOH systemPrepare clinical service reports for Vice President to present claims data to Department ChairmenMaintain accuracy of Sharepoint litigation tracker for electronic requests and audit trailsComplete PPR/Joint Commission standards in AMP systemAdministrative Responsibilities:Maintains current trial calendarEnsures timely notification of claims to insurance carriersCollaborate with IS/legal on Litigation Notification Response procedureOversees service of summons subpoenas preservation requests and search warrants:Manage malpractice verifications and claims history requestsMaintain file on Recall NotificationsEducationBachelors Degree BS in Business Law related field - RequiredMasters Degree - preferredThank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!Albany Medical is an equal opportunity employer.This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center its patients affiliates and partners including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
