Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.As the Oversight Lead for International Payments Vice President in the Consumer 2nd Line of Defense (2LOD) Risk Management organization you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cross-border payments including wires and blockchain transactions. You will be responsible for identifying assessing and mitigating risks associated with cross-border payments such as fraud scams compliance and operational vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies ensure adherence to international regulations and serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on potential threats and opportunities in an evolving global landscape.In this role you will provide independent oversight guidance and challenge to the first line of defense (front-line business units) to ensure that risks associated with wires and blockchain payments are effectively managed and remain within the organizations risk appetite. Responsibilities include reviewing product and feature designs developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks and policies tailored to the unique complexities of both traditional fiat and digital assets.You will also partner with Legal Compliance and Controls teams to address emerging issues and provide timely actionable guidance. Additionally you will communicate critical product challenges and risk insights to senior leadership helping to shape strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement in our risk management practices.Job ResponsibilitiesLook for ways payment use cases can potentially facilitate fraud and scam scenarios as well as operational and reputational riskEvaluate new payment features or modifications to existing services to ensure that the Product team has identified all the risks and has included appropriate controls to mitigate risksKnow the international payment flows you oversee just as well as the Product teamHave a working knowledge of cross-border controls that are used to mitigate inherent risk in Digital and BlockchainCollaborate with the business to solve problems but escalates within the risk management framework when the business exposes the bank to risk in an unsafe wayWork effectively as an individual contributor and collaborative team member on simultaneous projectsPossess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with executives managers and subject matter expertsDeconstruct and explain complex concepts and issues in a business-friendly manner to senior/executive managementRequired qualifications capabilities and skillsA minimum of 6 years of experience in risk management specifically within the payments banking or financial services industry with international exposure.A Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration Economics or a related fieldDeep understanding of international payment systems (e.g. Swift remittances real time payments) and digital asset protocols as well as relevant global regulatory landscapes.Excellent problem-solving decision-making and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across global teams.Ability to defend positions and influence with quantitative analysis developed with an analytical team.Preferred qualifications capabilities and skillsMasters degree or MBA preferredTo be eligible for this role you must be authorized to work in the United States.
