Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe, supportive environment for young people, offering after-school programs and activities focused on academic success, character development, and healthy lifestyles. AmeriCorps, a network of national service programs, often supports organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs by enlisting volunteers who commit their time and expertise to address critical community needs. Through their service, AmeriCorps members contribute to the positive development and empowerment of youth across the countryPosition Title: Youth Education & Enrichment SpecialistProgram Name: AmeriCorps Youth Education & Enrichment at Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township Term of Service: Complete 675 hours as a Reduced Half-Time Member between September 1st, 2025 - August 31st, 2026Job Summary: The Youth Education and Enrichment Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing educational and enrichment programs that promote academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles among club members. This role focuses on creating engaging and supportive learning environments that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.Key Responsibilities:Design, plan, and lead educational and enrichment programs and experiences that align with the mission and goals of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dundee Township.Facilitate group activities, homework help sessions, and project-based learning experiences that promote academic skills and personal development.Implement strategies to improve academic engagement for youth ages 7-18, focusing on factors such as school and Club attendance, school engagement, and expectations of academic success.Plan and facilitate high-yield learning activities (HYLA) that are engaging, hands-on, and aligned with academic standards.Track and monitor Club attendance, and provide interventions to improve attendance rates.Build positive relationships with youth members, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for learning and growth.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMust be authorized to work lawfully in the United StatesSuccessful completion of a background check, fingerprinting and drug screening.Passion for working with youthStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and eveningsTime Requirement: Complete 675 hours during the time of serviceParticipate in mandatory days of serviceComplete hours during direct service hours at designated site (i.e. after-school hours, no school days (if applicable), special events, family engagement activities, etc.)Benefits:Living allowance provided on a bi-weekly basis, $11,475 yearly gross pay.AmeriCorps Segal Education Award upon successful completion of the program.Flexible ScheduleTraining and professional development opportunities.Opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community and gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector.Requirements:
