Job Description

The Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the Director and/or Manager in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the unit. The Coordinator takes a leading role in activities such as nursing performance improvement job performance evaluations staffing scheduling and working with the directors in the orientation and training of new employeesEssential Duties:Understands & implements JACHO and Title 22 regulationsCoordinates daily OR schedule in collaboration with Chief of AnesthesiaCoordinates patient flow between Pre-Op/OR/PACU/Post-Op 2nd StageMakes daily staffing assignments based on unit based competencies and makes meal/break assignmentsPromotes professional growth within department including inservices/ preparation & presentationInterviews new candidates for employmentTabulates daily / end of pay period Kronos/payrollEnsures timeliness of staff credentials/licenses/Annual Health AssessmentUtilizes Samie Model for problem solving and Performance Improvement within departmentAssists Director/Manager in completion of annual evaluations in a timely mannerPerforms counselings as neededAssists in orienting new staff & preparing preceptor assignmentsAssists with implementing National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol (time-out and correct site)Ensures Infection Control practice are followedEnsures hospital policy and procedure is followedCommunicates information to all staff correctlySupervision of staff including ancillary personnelDelegates tasks to others based on: Scope of practice preparation capabilityPromotes positive role in leadership skills with staffPositive patient advocate and change agentEnsures that PI project reports are completed quarterly for Quality AssurancePerioperative exploration and validation of current and future practiceCollaboration and consultationEnsures equipment instrument and supplies are available complete and functioning and communicates with physicianPerforms other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Req Bachelors Degree Nursing Degree in NursingReq 1 year At least 1 year of acute inpatient hospital experience in the United States.Req Organization/time management skills.Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.Preferred Qualifications: Pref 2 years Two year pre-post op experience preferred.Required Licenses/Certifications: Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart AssociationReq Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart AssociationReq Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart AssociationPref Critical Care Nursing Certificate - CCRN (AACN) CCRN or CPAN preferredThe hourly rate range for this position is $53.00 $87.45.
