Job Title: RN CVICU (Critical Care)Pay: $57 Per HourShift: 7a-7pLocation: Pikeville KYSchedule: 10 WeeksProvides professional nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process within established standards and practices for assigned patients.Key Results Area:Provides direct patient care evaluates outcomes consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care as indicatedPerforms a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assessments as per policyProvides individualized age-specific care that supports homeostatic regulation hemodynamic monitoring and physiological functioningMaintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories conditions treatments responses and assessment of changesTreats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Maintains patient confidentiality. Identifies and addresses psychosocial cultural ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families. Functions as a patient advocateDemonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide appropriate age care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patients status to identify each patients age-specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient groupInteract professionally with patients and family and involve patient and family in the formation of an individualized and mutually agreed upon plan of care. Reviews/revises/updates/resolves plan of care dailyFormulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates the effectiveness of learning; includes family in teaching as appropriateSupervises other health care staff involved in patient care. Allocates and monitors the work of othersDemonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures in the departmentResponds promptly to changes in workload as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiencyParticipate in the development implementation and evaluation of performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes processes and the work environmentFunctions as a preceptor to orient new employeesEnhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature in-service meetings staff meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing educationMaintains operation of patient care equipment to include mechanical adjustments. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and the proper functioning of equipment. Assists in cost containment through the appropriate ordering and conservation of supplies and equipmentDemonstrates an ability to be flexible organized and function under stressful situationsMeets all departmental-specific competenciesPerforms housekeeping duties when neededAssists with the transportation of patients when neededAdheres to dress codeAdheres to medical center policies addressing infection control safety and personnel guidelinesPerforms other related duties as assigned or requestedServe as team leader and role model for other staff membersRequired Skills: Care of critically ill patients Airway Management- basic and advanced Pain Management Cardiac Monitoring Cardiac Care Post-operative vascular surgery care/Recovery Neurological neurovascular orthopedic care Gastrointestinal care Pulmonary/respiratory care Genitourinary/renal care Enteral Nutrition Skin assessment/care Central Venous catheter care and maintenance Specialized IV Drips/Titration Medication administration Information Management IV Therapy IVADD Transfusion Therapy Invasive Monitoring Waive Testing Sedation Assist with specialized procedures Use specialized equipment in the care of critically ill patients Manages Code Blue in the May Tower/Pediatrics Admission/discharge criteria Troubleshooting Infection Control Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Manages Code Blue for inpatient areas Attends all mandatory education and in-servicesQualifications:ACLS training required within 90 days (must be completed before completion of orientation)NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire or transfer (must be completed before completion oforientation)EKGFIT TestRN License5 years of Experience in Critical Care nursingAn associates degree in nursing is required.
