Qualifications for RN or LPN Unit Manager:    

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

  • Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and long-term care standards

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make clinical decisions and collaborate with the healthcare team

  • Compassionate, resident-focused, and committed to quality care

  • Organized with excellent time management and documentation skills

Responsibilities of RN or LPN Unit Manager:    

  • Supervise and lead the nursing team to ensure high-quality resident care.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with physicians, families, and staff.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.

  • Oversee medication administration, treatments, and accurate documentation.

  • Monitor residents’ health and adjust care plans as needed.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development for nursing staff.

  • Foster teamwork and effective communication across departments.

  • Maintain proper staffing levels and assist with scheduling.

  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate appropriate interventions.

  • Support quality improvement, infection control, and compliance initiatives.

  • Participate in care conferences and family meetings to update and educate.
