Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Procedure Phase IIStatus: Full-timeShift: Evenings, 10am-10pmOverview:The Ambulatory Surgery Unit, or ASU, is located on the ground floor of the main hospital adjacent to the Operating Room (OR) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). It consists of a 28- bed surgery prep unit and a 32-bed outpatient unit for pre and postoperative care for pediatric patients and adult postoperative care.Why Work at Mercy?We care for our team just as we care for our patients. When you join Mercy, you’ll benefit from:Career advancement support, including educational assistanceHealth, dental, and vision insurance – coverage starts on your first dayMonthly $100 contribution to Dependent Care FSA (for eligible employees)Paid parental leave401(k) with employer match – available from day oneGenerous PTO, including volunteer time off – accrual begins immediatelyCompetitive payPosition Overview:Under the direct supervision of the ASU Nurse Manager, the Pre-Admission Nurse performs:Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in personCollects the patients' medical history from previous medical recordsWorks closely with the anesthesia department in coordinating the patient's needsPerforms direct patient care activities for all age groups.Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for patients in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Qualifications:Required:Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing programLicensure: Current RN license in the state of practiceExperience: Minimum of 1 year of RN experienceCertifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart AssociationOther Skills: Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred:Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and NRP (required for areas where applicable; must be maintained current)Experience: At least 1 year of RN experienceReady to Apply?
