**Job Summary:**We are seeking a skilled Road and Bridge Equipment Operator/Blade Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate and maintain heavy equipment including blades to clear and maintain roads and bridges.**Qualifications:**- High school diploma or equivalent- Valid drivers license- Previous experience operating heavy equipment specifically blades is required- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical strength**Responsibilities:**- Operate and maintain road and bridge construction equipment with a focus on blades- Clear debris and snow from roads and bridges to ensure safe travel- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality and longevity- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities**Preferred Skills:**- Certification in heavy equipment operation- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles- Strong problem-solving skillsIf you have a passion for operating heavy equipment and ensuring the safety of roadways we encourage you to apply for this position.Seward County is an equal opportunity employer.
