As a Robotics Engineer: Systems & Applications Engineer you will enable customer success by leading the implementation deployment and support activities of smart robotic assistants for surface treatment applications.ResponsibilitiesBefore the work cell is deployed work with the customer to learn about the manufacturing process including observing the current process taking measurements CAD and machine documentationWork with mechanical and robotics engineers to design the work cell layout for a specific task keeping in mind the robots reachability and cycle timeMake any necessary design modifications on the robot end-of-arm-tool and part fixtures by working with mechanical engineers and get parts fabricated assembled and testedDesign implement and deploy robotic cells systems and componentsSetup and test the work cell on the customer task which includes the ability to install troubleshoot and maintain control components such as proximity sensors relays and vacuum ejectors.Work with engineering and support firmsInstall and support robotic solutionsLead rigorous system testing practicesLead proof of concepts for customersCreate documentation manuals and educational contentsDeveloping new applications using GrayMatter technologies and solutionsDesign and lead customer success and support programsWork with the product and engineering teams to improve the customer experienceTravel may be required up to 30% of the timeOther duties and projectsMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree or higher in Robotics Mechanical Engineer Computer Science or related field3 years of industry experience with manufacturing automation cyber-physical systems or similarDemonstrated experience with 3D solid modeling analysis and development of 2D manufacturing drawingsBasic programming knowledge in C Python or other similar languagesEffective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to solve technical problems effectively efficiently and independentlyFamiliar with industrial facilities and equipmentAbility to work with customersMust secure work authorization in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employmentPreferred Qualifications1 years of industry experience within a manufacturing environment working on manufacturing process development manufacturing engineering or similarExperience programming 6DOF robots for various surface finishing applicationsExperience in process engineering within a manufacturing environmentGrayMatter Robotics provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race color religion age sex national origin disability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws.
