Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCMM Programmer | Zeeland, MISalary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experienceAre you a skilled professional with a passion for precision measurement and ensuring dimensional accuracy? By connecting with Pivot Group, you position yourself for roles that match your background and aspirations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, and validate CMM inspection programs from engineering models and drawings.Interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and specifications.Operate, calibrate, and maintain CMM equipment and associated software.Analyze measurement data, identify discrepancies, and generate comprehensive inspection reports.Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process production part measurements.Troubleshoot CMM program errors and optimize measurement routines for efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on measurement strategies and problem resolution.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications.Experience with various CMM types and probing systems.Strong understanding of metrology principles and measurement techniques.Familiarity with CAD software for model-based programming.Bonus QualificationsAdvanced proficiency with multiple CAD software platforms (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) for model manipulation and analysis.Experience with other advanced metrology equipment (e.g., laser scanners, vision systems, optical comparators).Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.Ability to design and/or fabricate custom fixturing for CMM inspection.Experience in a lead or mentoring role, training junior technicians or developing best practices.Job Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Programmer, Dimensional Metrologist, Quality Control Programmer, CMM Technician, Measurement Systems Programmer, Quality Inspector (CMMWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
