Camp Fireweed Rock Wall Specialist*Camp Fireweed is NOT an overnight camp and does NOT provide room and board*Gear up for outdoor adventures at our day camp located in Anchorage on the campus of Alaska Pacific University. We take full advantage of this natural setting making every day another opportunity for campers to explore the forest practice target sports or launch a canoe from the addition to a huge catalog of activities and games we structure each session to create a classic outdoor summer camp experience.Position Description:The Camp Fireweed Rock Wall Specialist adheres to Camp Fire Alaskas (CFA) promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark lift their voice and discover who they are through positive and responsible youth/adult interactions within the day camp environment. The Rock Wall Specialist will be responsible for providing instruction guidance and supervision to staff and campers during rock climbing activities and field trips. Additionally this position will serve as back-up providing for coverage for Cabin Counselor duties as needed. In this position youll gain valuable experience providing a high-quality camp experience for participants and parents within the CFA mission and goals. Youll have an opportunity to lead and participate in all camp activities along with planning and implementing age appropriate activities consistent with campers needs/abilities that promote encourage and demonstrate caring striving and thriving. Join our team and make a lasting difference in the lives of our youth!Pay:Starting at $19.89/hour with higher rates available based on experience.Bonus for completing the full seasonWork Dates: April 20 - August 14 2026 (beginning with start-up training)Work Schedule: 8 hours a day Monday - FridayQualifications:Current Belay Certification or evidence of successful training.Prior experience in leading/facilitating recreational wall climbing bouldering and belayingPrior experience working with youth preferred.
