Roofing Technician at Peninsula Roofing Co

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of commercial and residential roofing systems, including:
• • TPO
  • EPDM
  • PVC
  • Modified Bitumen
  • Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
  • Metal Roofing
  • Asphalt Shingles
• Diagnose roof leaks and determine root causes.
• Perform repairs including:
• • Membrane patching
  • Seam repairs
  • Flashing repairs and replacement
  • Metal edge and coping repairs
  • Pipe boot replacement
  • Sealant application and maintenance
  • Drain cleaning and repair
  • Minor carpentry and decking repairs
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete maintenance reports.
• Take photographs and document roof conditions before, during, and after repairs.
• Prepare detailed field reports describing findings, repairs performed, and recommendations.
• Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with property managers, facility managers, homeowners, and general contractors.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Assist estimators and project managers by identifying additional repair or replacement opportunities.
• Participate in emergency leak response and storm damage service calls as needed.
• Perform temporary emergency repairs to protect customer property.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of roofing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Basic knowledge of commercial and residential roofing systems.
• Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and digital reporting software.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial low-slope roofing systems.
• Experience with residental steep-slope systems.
• Experience with moisture detection and roof condition assessments.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk roof surfaces for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely on steep-slope and low-slope roofs.
