Velocity is seeking a Line Chef to help build and execute the culinary vision inside Caf Omotenashi our hospitality-driven kitchen inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wholehearted, selfless service. Everything we do in Caf Omotenashi is rooted in care, detail, consistency, and anticipation of needs before they arise.This role is ideal for a line cook who is passionate about farm-to-table and roots-to-table cooking, scratch-made meals, and working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients including produce, meats, and dairy. You will be part of a culinary team currently serving 4060 meals daily across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with planned expansion to serve up to 140 as our program grows. For the right person, this role has long-term growth potential, with future opportunities to advance into sous chef and executive chef positions.KEY AREAS OF MEASURABLE AND REPORTABLE FOCUS INCLUDE:Performance Optimization Execute the culinary vision of Caf Omotenashi through attention to detail, consistency, and precise execution of scratch-made meals, contributing to a one-of-a-kind food experience for patients and staff.Performance Psychology Apply the philosophies of industry leaders like Anthony Bourdain, Danny Meyer, and Will Guidara by delivering hospitality that is thoughtful, warm, and detail-driven.Collaboration & Communication Work collaboratively with clinicians, instructors, residential staff, and leadership to support a cohesive and welcoming environment.Data-Driven Improvement Assist in gathering and interpreting meal feedback, food quality metrics, and satisfaction indicators to drive continuous improvement.Performance Monitoring & Evaluation Support menu testing, evaluate meal success, and help refine recipes and processes based on real-time data and team collaboration.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are seeking someone who embodies VHGs Four Core Attributes:Curiosity passion for learning, experimenting, and expanding culinary skill.Authenticity genuine, humble, team-oriented, and grounded.Resilience able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.Drive relentless commitment to mastery, craftsmanship, and execution.Additionally, we are looking for:Strong cooking skills and understanding of high-performance culinary environments.Ability to consistently prepare high-quality meals from scratch using fresh, local ingredients.Excellent time management, organization, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic kitchen.Clear and effective communication skills with both kitchen and non-kitchen staff.Physical stamina to perform in a demanding, fast-paced kitchen environment.Baking ability including bread, muffins, sourdough, and pastries (strongly preferred).A genuine desire to co-create the Caf Omotenashi experience.Velocity Health Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
