We are one of the largest pulp and paper construction contractors in the United States and our safety record exceeds industry standards.Job DescriptionThis role will function as our onsite safety expert and will partner with our Corporate Safety Manager to provide guidance on the overall safety program. This role will also be tasked with developing, managing and executing policies, procedures and programs that ensure the safety of all employees.Essential Job Functions:Implement innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.Ensure policies, procedures and programs are in place and aimed at improving safety performance.Mentor, develop and manage members of the safety team.Partner with department leaders and employees on implementation of safety initiativesOversee the incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, investigations are conducted properly, root causes are identified and ensure that corrective actions are tracked to closure.Develop and maintain site preparedness and emergency plans and procedures.Maintain records, data, and other safety related information necessary to satisfy legislative and company requirements.Drive risk identification and abatement.Perform other duties and special projects as required.Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:OSHA 30 & OSH510First Aid, CPR, and AEDMinimum of 15-20 years of Safety experience working in a industrial construction or operations environment with at least 5 years of team management experiencePrevious experience interacting with Safety related regulatory agencies.Excellent communication and people skills
