Job Description
Summary: This positionis responsible forimplementing and managing the safety policies and procedures put in place. This role will work as part of a team developing implementing and evaluating safety policies and programs across the organization.**This is a Split Shift 5 days a week (i.e. 11 am 8 pm or 12 pm 9 pm)Accountabilities:Works with Safety Managers in developing andimplementation ofsafety programs policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Drives continuous safety improvement through best management practices using leading and trailing indicators.Facilitates the workers compensation claims process including initial entering of claim;assistingin the investigation; communicating with employees adjusters and investigators; and processing documentspertaining tothe incident and claim.Facilitate onboarding of new employees and various classroom and hands-on training. May also lead weekly all-hands safety meeting.Understands local air permitting requirements as well as monitors records andmaintainsapplicable supporting documentationAssists in the completion of OSHA required reports as well as company KPI tracking and reporting.Conducts weekly walk-arounds and observations as well asassistsin conducting safety audits and inspections to help maintain an effective safety culture.Assistsin investigating incidents accidents nearmissesandidentifyingcorrective action recommendations.Documents phone conversations witness statements medical reports and accident investigation results and files all documents consistently incompanyelectronic system.Manages safety records including incident reports and safety training records in company LMS and SMS systemsProvide First Aid and emergency medical response to employeesin accordance withcertified training ensuring prompt andappropriate careuntil professional medical services arrive.Maintain First Aid supplies and equipment including AEDs to ensure readiness and compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.Conduct or coordinate First Aid and CPR training for employees as needed to support workplace preparedness and regulatory requirements.Document and report First Aid incidents accuratelyin accordance withcompany policies and applicable laws.Attributes:Safety First: Promotes a proactive prevention-focused safety culture ensuring every decision prioritizes employee well-being and operational integrity.Human-Centered: Leads with empathy and respect building trust through open communication and genuine concern for the health and safety of all team members.Transparent: Clearly communicates safety goals expectations and performance results across the organization to support alignment and accountability.Innovative: Seeks out new technologies training methods and process improvements to continually advance workplace safety and reduce risk exposure.Resilient: Maintains composure in high-pressure situations adapting to challenges while keeping safety excellence and operational continuity at the forefront.Reliable: Demonstrates consistent integrity and dependability in executing safety programs ensuring compliance and reinforcing organizational trust.Grit & Ownership: Shows determination and follow-through in driving safety improvements achieving ambitious goals and sustaining long-term cultural change.Required Knowledge/Experience:Bachelors degree in industrial engineering safety and health OR any combination of education and experience thatdemonstratesthe ability to perform the job duties (required)Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred but not required2-3 years experience as a safety professional preferredOSHA10 and OSHA30Experience with disciplines approaches and methodologies associated with industrial safety regulations programs and procedures.Effective adult training methods and practical approaches and methodologies required to educate experienced aswellnew workers on routine or complex and/or emerging occupational health and safety issues.Understanding ofgenerally appliedtechniques and strategies to design develop and implement comprehensive solutions.Applicable regulatory requirements including air permitting requirements and when each applies (OSHA General Industry and Constructionstandards).Analyze data relating to compliance with current regulations and makeappropriate recommendations.Respond to emergencies andassistthe Safety Manager/Officer under the incident command system.Being a flexible team member in a team-oriented environment to support day-to-day safety and risk management functions.Expressing ideas clearly in written and oral communicationFormatting and producing correspondence and documents using current word processing applications.Maintaining inputting and retrieving data for training records metrics and injury & illness recordsStrong organizational skills.Promoting safety as a guiding principle and regular practice inaccomplishingwork focusing on safety improvements andcomplies withsafety and health policies and procedures.Show the utmost respect for others and be a team player.Ability to access all work areas including climbing narrow steep stairs; donning fall protection gear to access heights as needed; entering confined spaces such containers and voids as needed.Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
