Job DescriptionJob DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct and manage plant operations for safety, environmental, production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.Manages capital asset maintenance.Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.Leads continual process improvement.Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisor.Other duties may be assigned.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Schedule work to meet delivery objectives.Maintain quality standards set by company.Interview, select and hire new leaders and provide training for new and existing employees.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises 5 managers with approximately 4 supervisors over approximately 170 employees. Responsibilities include managing supervisors who are responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in related fieldFive years plant/general management experience in a poultry slaughter plant manufacturing environment.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, Ability to speak effectively after groups of employees of organization. Bilingual language skills a plus OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESComputer knowledgeMinimum of five years of supervisory experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
