You will be responsible for providing design and drafting support for continuous casting sales projects in the NAFTA market, provide aftermarket support in the form of service and revamp proposals, and to represent the company’s interests in general.Who we areAt SMS group, our people are our greatest asset. We offer company events, activities, and opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives that benefit the communities where we are located.www.sms-group.usWhat you’ll doIn conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determine which equipment references will be used for proposal creationCreate layout drawings and engineering investigations in support of sales projectsManagement of layout work for proposal preparationSelect and adapt appropriate reference equipment to use as a basis for new effortsCoordination of layout efforts amongst different design departments, when necessary Customer support / liaison of the company’s domestic referencesWhat you’ll needMechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience in mechanical design and drafting requiredMinimum 5 years experience working with industrial steelmaking equipment and facilities. Specific experience in continuous casting design preferred. Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem-solving skills, good communication skills and work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team environmentExcellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD and Creo.
