Painting Estimator Construction at Howard Grote & Sons, Inc.

Howard Grote & Sons, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Painting Estimator to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and professional project estimates while supporting positive relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. What You’ll Do: Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work Prepare accurate estimates that consider risk factors and construction methods Maintain up-to-date files, working documents, and vendor/subcontractor databases Request, review, and log quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Support other departments and assist with various tasks as needed Visit project sites to observe construction methods Participate in bid review and project hand-off meetings Perform post-bid analysis and assist with cost control system setup Deliver major bids, pick up drawings, and manage miscellaneous bid-related tasks Update company website with current bid information Communicate and reinforce the company’s vision, values, and goals What We’re Looking For: 3–5 years of construction field experience Strong math, computer, and estimating skills Ability to conceptualize project schedules from start to finish Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and project sequencing Ability to interpret complex blueprints and computerized cost data Equivalent combinations of technical training and experience are considered Why Join Us: You’ll become part of a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and delivering quality results.
