Title: SAP Concur Functional consultant Client Name: Confidential Engagement Details Location: Hybrid Chicago Downtown office Duration: 6 12 months (extendable) Start Date: Immediate Engagement Type: Contract or FTE (depending on profile) Role Overview The SAP Concur Functional Consultant will serve as the primary advisor and troubleshooter for the clients travel and expense automation landscape. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP Concur configuration integration with SAP S/4HANA or ECC and hands-on issue resolution experience in a complex enterprise environment. You will collaborate with business process owners finance teams and IT stakeholders to identify root causes streamline workflows and ensure Concur is delivering its intended ROI. Key Responsibilities Lead post-implementation assessment and stabilization of SAP Concur (Expense Travel and Invoice modules). Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflow approval routing integrations expense policies and data synchronization with SAP ERP. Conduct configuration reviews and optimization of Concur setup (expense types audit rules per diems GL mapping cost objects). Partner with Finance HR and IT teams to re-engineer processes and improve end-user experience. Manage integration touchpoints with SAP S/4HANA Payroll and Corporate Card systems (Amex Visa etc.). Establish governance documentation and best practices for ongoing Concur operations. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal support teams and business super-users. Drive enhancement backlog prioritization and support upcoming Concur releases and feature updates. Collaborate with Concur Support and SAP to escalate and resolve complex incidents. Required Skills & Experience 8 years of overall SAP functional experience with at least 4 years in SAP Concur (Expense Travel Invoice). Strong expertise in Concur configuration policy setup audit rules and workflow management. Hands-on experience with Concur-SAP ERP integrations (via SAP CPI API or file interfaces). Solid understanding of finance processes - T&E accounting AP integration tax handling and GL postings. Proven experience stabilizing and optimizing post-implementation environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills especially with Finance and Shared Services. Experience conducting training sessions and documentation for business users. SAP Certification in Concur modules (preferred not mandatory). Experience working in Manufacturing F & B Logistics Distribution industry. Nice to Have Exposure to corporate travel policies expense audit automation and credit card integrations. Understanding of mobile app configurations and AI-based expense audit features. Familiarity with ServiceNow or Jira for incident and enhancement tracking. Prior consulting experience with large global rollouts or multi-country implementations. Regards !!
