Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.Key job responsibilitiesAs a Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System Engineer you will be responsible for Customer Terminal (CT) architecture integration and validation with hardware software and firmware. You will work in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including electrical hardware antenna simulation silicon algorithm firmware and software this role your responsibilities include: Develop the CT architecture by working closely with sub-system engineers in electrical RF antenna modem DSP ASIC algorithm firmware modeling and software Develop the validation plans build the validation infrastructure execute testing analyze data and report the results to the stakeholders Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams Ensure the delivered work meets technical functional performance regulatory and business requirements Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites Travel up to 10% of the time depending on project phasesExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeAs a SATCOM System Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team you will work daily with electrical hardware RF antenna silicon and product design engineers as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting integrating and validating customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers.About the teamThe Amazon Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices enabling customers internet service via the Amazon Leo satellite network. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
