Funds for this position are expected to be available up to the end of the school addition to other specified conditions of employment the applicant understands that no guarantee of continued employment beyond the availability of the grant funds is expressed or implied by Irving Independent School District.A Letter of Assurance will be issued for this position.PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide flexibility in meeting campus needs by assisting in the office and/or in the classrooms as determined by the principal.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification: Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children Ability to use/learn basic computer applications Knowledge of general office equipment Effective communication and interpersonal skillsMinimum Experience:Experience working with children/students or parentsMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Perform receptionist/clerical duties in the office as assignedWork with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises as assignedMaintain confidentiality of informationAssist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environmentAssist in supervising students throughout the school day as neededAssist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required.Assist in inventory care and maintenance of equipment as assignedAssist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operationsParticipate in staff development programs faculty meetings and special events as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervises none.WORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel.
