This senior role is responsible for next-level execution of daily operations plans, team(s) coordination and deep-dive analysis of scheduling team(s) processes and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Assist manager in development of daily operating plans
- Prevent and proactively work against claims through execution of daily operating plan
- Participate in the hiring, training, accountability, disciplining and continuous development of team personnel
- Collaborate with manager to facilitate and communicate team huddles
- Achieve KPIs related to volume generation, service performance, load ratio, and claims performance
- Review KPI scorecards, execute opportunities of improvement and coach team members
- Evaluate current scheduling plans for accuracy and KPIs, coach teams on issues
- Communicate with field personnel on driver/ staff coaching opportunities for KPIs
- Act as first point of contact for external customer questions, issues or requests (day deals)
- Work with outside sales and internal customers on filling capacity
- Proactively communicate to customers on ETAs, sourcing issues, driver / equipment issues, and all other situations that impact business and document for internal tracking
- Engage daily on current shift, maximize KPIs and minimize issues by coordinating activities with Load Planner(s)
- Coordinate all efforts between Asset Specialists and Inventory Specialists to emphasize KPIs and growth
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent business experience; degree preferred
- 2+ years of increasing experience in dispatch/scheduling
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to transportation industry
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent personal skills and positive attitude to create buy-in for changes
