Job Description
Amergis Educational Staffing is in need of a School Aides The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal physical mobility and therapeutic care needs as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner social worker or other health care professional. Paraprofessional Certification is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follows through with IEP objectives including math reading speech independent skills and managing behavioral deficits and excesses one on one or as a general classroom aideFacilitates teacher-directed learning activities including lesson plans worksheets reinforcement systems small groups social games and work assistance Assists students when included in general education classesCommunicates pertinent information to teachersAccompanies students during recess and lunch periods along with community experiencesStrictly adheres to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students parents parent communications and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unless instructed otherwise by supervising teacher all parent communication is the responsibility of certified personnel)Assists with activities of prescribed programs including those written by related service personnel such as PT OT and SLPAssists students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting clothing routines feeding and personal hygieneMay be asked to assist in behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/or other school professional (i.e. BCBA Psychologist etc.)Assists teacher with clerical duties including making stimuli making copies maintaining a clean and organized classroom preparing materials and assignment scoringAssists with transfers and ambulationAppropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by IHP/IEPMinimum Requirements:Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Must have Paraprofessional CertificationParticipation and completion of Amergis Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including but not limited to supervisors co-workers clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required Computer proficiency required Must be at least 18 years of age Key Skills Culinary Experience,Restaurant Experience,Food Preparation Experience,Food Service,Kitchen Experience,Dietary Aide Experience,Serving Experience,Cooking,Dietary Department Experience,Sanitation,Food Production Experience,Meal Preparation Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
