School Based TDT Counselor at Infinite Counseling & Wellness

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryThe counselor will provide direct therapeutic support to students within the school environment. Clinicians will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges that impact a student’s ability to learn. This role includes individual and group interventions, crisis de-escalation, skill-building, and treatment planning support.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily or weekly therapeutic interventions to assigned studentsImplement individualized treatment plans under licensed supervisionSupport students in areas such as emotional regulation, focus, behavior management, and coping skillsDocument clinical notes daily in EHR systemCollaborate with teachers and school staff to reinforce behavior strategiesParticipate in IEP/504 meetings as neededCommunicate progress with parents/guardians and the clinical supervisorAssist with reauthorizations and quarterly treatment plan updatesProvide crisis intervention and de-escalation when neededMaintain HIPAA compliance and professional boundaries at all timesQualificationsRequired:Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social WorkMaster’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services fieldActive Virginia Board of Counseling registration as a Resident in Counseling or Virginia Board of Social Work registration as a Supervisee in Social Work ORMust meet Virginia DMAS qualifications for QMHP-C, including:Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field OREquivalent graduate-level educationExperience working with children or adolescentsStrong skills in communication, organization, and rapport buildingAbility to work independently within a school environmentMust pass background checks and TB screeningPreferred:Experience in school-based, community-based, or outpatient mental healthKnowledge of trauma-informed practicesExperience with TDT, skill-building, or behavior supportFamiliarity with TherapyNotes or other EHR systemsBilingual (Spanish/English) a plusCompany DescriptionInfinite Counseling and Wellness LLC is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services for children (ages 6+), adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
