School Custodial Cleaner at ABM

Description The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at the campus of UCO in Edmond OK. Pay Rate: $ 13.50 to $14/hr SHIFT(S): MON-FRI & SUN-THUR 10PM TO 630AM Essential FunctionsCleans and maintains buildings/facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors shampooing rugs washing walls and glass and removing rubbish.Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systemsEstablishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients co-workers shift coordinators supervisors managers etc.Complies with all safety security compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company Clients and regulatory authoritiesCleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.ResponsibilitiesCleans building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.Sometimes using ladders dusts and washes furniture walls machines and equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blindsMoves cabinets boxes furniture crates and equipment to clean areas either manually or by using hand trucksMay remove stains from such surfaces as rugs drapes walls and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. May also sweep walks rake leaves cut grass remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasksMixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specificationsCleans and vacuums carpeted areas including application of spot cleaning treatmentGathers and empties trashWipes and cleans tabletops chairs and equipment in food areasCleans and polishes furniture and fixturesServices cleans and supplies restroomsPeriodically cleans overhead vents dusts blinds and polishes wood furnitureCleans interior partition glass windows glass partitions and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners sponges and squeegeesSprays insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestationSets up arranges and removes decorations tables chairs ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetingsMust keep janitors closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working orderRequisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance dutiesMonitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not createdMiscellaneous duties as assignedQualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderPreferred Qualifications:1 yr of similar work experienceBenefit Information: ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package.
