Open Until Filled After the 5 Day Mandatory Posting WindowPRIMARY PURPOSE:Provide psycho-educational assessments of students with disabilities while collaborating with staff students and parents toprovide support and direct services for students with disabilities who are experiencing emotional/behavioral problems.This position is supplemental to locally funded positions.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Fulfill all internship requirements under the supervision of an LSSP who has a minimum of three years of experience providing psychological services within the public school system without supervision.22 TAC 465.2Apply techniques in assessment intervention behavior management and consultation to children of all ages needs and populations in the public school setting.Document all activities and hours of the internship in combination with supervisor signatures in accordance with program and Board requirements.Complete the LSSP internship in one year (202 days).TSBEP Board Rule 465.38 (4)QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification:Hold a current LSSP trainee status letter stating they meet the requirements set forth by the training program and the rules for school psychologists as defined by the Texas Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP).Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to administer in-depth psycho-educational assessmentsKnowledge of diagnostic procedures education of special education students human development& learning theoriesAbility to interpret data and solve problems of different complexitiesExcellent organizational communication and interpersonal skillsWORK CONDITIONSTools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals and other instructional equipmentPosture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twistingMotion: Frequent walking prolonged use of computerLifting: May require regular heavy lifting (45 pounds or more) and positioning of students with physicaldisabilities control behavior through physical restraint assist non-ambulatory students and lift and move adaptive equipment; may work prolonged or irregular hoursEnvironment: Exposure to biological hazards; requires district-wide travel some statewide and out of state travelMental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to problem solve interpret data and acquire and apply new skills and knowledge; ability to resolve conflicts; ability to adapt and be flexible in multiple environmentsRegular attendance is an essential functionMinimum Experience: Experience working with and assessing students who have emotional disturbances and/or autism.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Administer in-depth psycho-educational assessments to students referred to special educationInterpret data from assessments and write reports for students referred to special educationConsult with parents concerning the behavioral needs of their studentProvide behavioral strategies to staff concerning their studentsServe as a member of ARD committees in developing behavioral strategiesProvide psychological consultationsProvide staff developmentDemonstrate behavior that is professional ethical and responsible.Keep informed of and comply with state district and school regulations.Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.Attend and participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities and serve on staff committees as required.Maintain confidentialisty.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.Comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers including the Texas Educator Code of EthicsRequired Experience:Intern Key Skills EMR Systems,Presentation Skills,Developmental Disabilities Experience,Data Collection,Intake Experience,Primary Care Experience,Autism Experience,Research Experience,Mental Health Counseling,Psychotherapy,PTSD Care,Addiction Counseling Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
