Position: W2 Scrum Master III Location: Hoover, Alabama (3 days onsite role) Duration: Contract Job ID: 177364 Job Overview: The Scrum Master III serves as a facilitator and Agile coach for up to two development teams. This role provides leadership by helping Agile teams adhere to the rules of Scrum, applying the practices and principles of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise), and working within and outside the team to remove impediments. The Scrum Master III fosters an environment of transparency and continuous improvement by proactively communicating with the team, management, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: Focuses the Agile team on delivering planned value. Ensures teams achieve their objectives by reinforcing SAFe framework and Scrum principles, facilitating standard ceremonies, and keeping the team focused on their goals. Guides the team and organization on Agile/Scrum practices and values. Coaches the team on self-organization and filling intentional gaps in Agile/Scrum frameworks. Assesses Scrum maturity and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace. Facilitates the completion of work and addresses impediments beyond the team's authority. Builds an environment of continuous improvement and encourages healthy team dynamics through retrospectives, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Coordinates with other teams, DevOps, System Teams, Shared Services, and other Scrum Masters to ensure smooth communication and collaboration. Supports and educates the Product Owner, particularly in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog. Guides the team through estimating and forecasting processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Six (6) years of relevant business/development support, user story creation, writing, and estimation experience. Experience with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies. Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Certifications/Licensures: First Level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, and/or SAFe Practitioner certification). Preferences: Six (6) years of Project Management experience, preferably in Information Technology. Extensive Agile and/or Scrum experience. Second Level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II, and/or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification). Experience as a Scrum Master for six (6) years, diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Knowledge of other Agile approaches such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. Experience with Agile techniques like User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games. Working knowledge of SAFe. Experience as a Team Leader and in coaching, training, or developing teams. Skills and Competencies: Strong skills in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency. Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for addressing gaps in the Scrum approach (e.g., Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, handling of bugs, etc.).
