JOB TITLE: Sealant Mechanic - In-Tank (Early Career) - $5K Relocation Bonus LOCATION: North Charleston SC PAY RATE: $26-31/hour We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client. Work variable shifts (1st 2nd or 3rd). Read comprehend and follow technical work instructions drawings and specifications in English. Apply sealant to surfaces per specifications. Install various aircraft system components including panels. Operate mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders tiger lifts snorkel lifts). Use chemical solvents sealants coatings primers adhesives paints and special finishes. Work in confined spaces with associated training and certification. Carry and lift up to 35 pounds. Perform bond and ground measurements. Conduct in-tank sealing and structural work in fuel tanks. Wash fuel tanks and perform rework as needed. Maintain high standards of safety and regulatory compliance. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; vocational school or associate degree is a plus. 6 months using software applications (internet email Microsoft Suite or other specialized tools). 6 months following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints drawings or specifications in English. 6 months in an advanced manufacturing technical or mechanical environment using hand power and pneumatic tools. 6 months applying chemical solvents sealants coatings primers adhesives paints and special finishes. Work in confined spaces with proper training and certification. Carry and lift up to 35 pounds. Perform tasks including kneeling bending reaching overhead twisting standing walking climbing/balancing crawling and crouching. Ability to work variable shifts (1st 2nd or 3rd). Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
