Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Seasonal Rehab Wildlife Keeper assists in the care of sick, orphaned, and injured wildlife at the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center at Willowbrook Forest Preserve, as well as assists in the release of successfully rehabilitated animals.What You'll DoProvide daily care for rehabilitating wildlife, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring health.Assist with enclosure maintenance, including replacement of furniture and perches and providing enrichment.Clean and disinfect equipment including cages, towels, and dishesKeep neat and accurate records, including progress notes for patient animalsFoster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazardsMaintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.What You'll Need18 years of age or older at time of hire.Valid Driver's License in good standing.1 year of previous experience in animal care or handling preferred. Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire.Basic knowledge of animal behavior.Basic knowledge of animal training and care practices.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Schedule & PayThis position has two different durations of employment.One position can work up to 22 weeks from April 15, 2026 to October 15, 2026.One position can work up to15 weeks from May 1, 2026 to Sept 1, 2026.Schedule is 40 hours per week, 4 to 10 hour days. This can include weekends.$16.00 to $17.00 per hourDistrict uniform shirts are providedWork Setting Based DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center at Willowbrook Forest PreserveRequires working indoors and outdoors and exposure to all weather conditions, wildlife including insects, birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
