At Goodwill we aspire to bring refunds back to taxpayers and the community by mentoring inspiring and leading with the purposed of financial wellness education and free tax preparation through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program.DescriptionAs a Seasonal Tax Professional youll serve clients with diverse tax needs with the support of an expert team dedicated to providing you with the advanced tax training youll need to be successful. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:Complete and successfully certify in tax law training including the use of electronic filing software to provide free tax return preparation for eligible taxpayers.Prepare tax returns after being cleared by intake & Interview stationReview tax returns completed by fellow seasonal tax professionals and volunteer tax preparers ensuring that every taxpayer receives top quality service and that the tax returns are error-free.Assist volunteers and clients with questions accurately and in a timely fashion.Assist Site Coordinator with prompt transmittal of tax returns in accordance with IRS guidelines and Goodwill best practices.Assist Site Coordinator with timely resolution of rejected tax returns by contacting client by phone meeting with them when they return explaining the reason for the rejection and patiently working with them to resolve and resubmit the return.Inform clients about additional financial services offered by Goodwill and in the community.Perform other duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor or GoodwillSR leadership.Operating Hours and DaysThis is a seasonal position based upon business needs and availability.Monday: 9am 6pmTuesday: 9am 7pmWednesday: 9am 6pmThursday: 9am 6pmFriday: 9am 6pmSaturday: 9am - 6pmRequirements:Ability to work 30 hours weekly throughout the tax season.Experience working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to pass a background and drug screen.Successfully complete and pass the IRS Certification listed belowVolunteer Standards of Conduct Intake/Interview & Quality ReviewAdvanceMilitaryKnowledge Skills & AbilityAbility to work with people with disabilities and be understandingHigh level of enthusiasm motivation persistence and a positive attitudePossess and display excellent analytical critical thinking organizational verbal and written communication skills with a diverse audienceAbility to use a computerProficient in Microsoft Office: Word Excel and OutlookAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to act and make decisions that align with the organizations values of - Honesty Integrity Respect Excellence and ServiceMust successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a federal background checkRequired Experience:Unclear Seniority Key Skills Graphic,Apache Tomcat,ABAP,Application Development,Fiber,Application Engineering Employment Type : Temp Experience: years Vacancy: 1
