Security Guard at Atalco Gramercy Operations

Atalco Gramercy Operations is the leading producer of Alumina in the United States. Our Gramercy refinery produces 1.2 million tons a year of smelter grade alumina (SGA) for the production of aluminum as well as chemical grade alumina (CGA) which is used in a wide array of industrial applications.

We are currently seeking 2 Security Guards for our Gramercy, LA refinery.

Job Summary/Objective

The overall duty of a Security Guard is to protect Atalco's property, employees, and visitors.

Essential Functions

• Inspect, patrol, and monitor activities including the gates on the company's premises regularly and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols
• Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred
• Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner and test security systems when needed.
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed

Work Environment

• External - Working outside in the elements - rain, cold, heat - dusty environment.
• Internally - Office environment.

Qualifications

• Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Team player works effectively and cooperatively with others. Actively shares knowledge and skills with others.

Education/Training Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
