Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob SummaryUnder the supervision and direction of the General Manager; ensure the security of the grounds, buildings and plant office by monitoring the site: perform duties in the safest positive manner in accordance with Company policy.Schedule: 12am-12pmEssential Duties/ResponsibilitiesNothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Tours the entire facility frequently, looking for unusual situations such as smoke, leaks, or intruders; contacts one of management personnel if such a situation is noted.Admits only management personnel into the plant office after regular office hours; keeps a visitors list of anyone entering or leaving the facility.Accurately takes telephone messages and relays calls to the appropriate supervisor; completes any new or assigned duties by supervisor.Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes safety as a top Company priority; attends regularly scheduled safety meetings.Minimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age with valid drivers license.Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.Prior security guard experience preferred.Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.Highly organized; superior time management skills.Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.Physical DemandsFrequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.Frequently required to move up to 50 lbs.Occasionally must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.Regularly required reach with hands and arms.Work EnvironmentJob functions will be carried out at a plant location and in company vehicle.Darling Ingredients is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, military service, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state and local law.
