The Security Industry Specialist is responsible for providing advanced expertise consultation and guidance on industry trends best practices and innovative solutions in eCommerce fraud cyber security and compliance risks. We are looking for an experienced risk specialist with industry experience in eCommerce fraud compliance or cyber fraud investigations with relevant risk management experience and technical experience with cybersecurity crypto security engineering etc. and data analysis skills (SQL Python Machine Learning Data Science etc.). An Individual in this role will own critical and high impact risk investigations and root cause analysis projects to scale their findings through technology and analytics (SQL Python machine learning). Further an individual in this role is responsible for interpreting risks across Amazons different business segments while developing pragmatic and systematic solutions to solve endemic problems. The ideal candidate should be passionate about working in a fast-paced environment solving highly ambiguous problems through use of advanced data analytics and technology. The role will require the individual to dive deep into complex and diverse data sets to identify risk patterns and establish connections to uncover process and technology gaps to prevent fraud across Amazon stores worldwide. To be successful the candidate must possess a customer-oriented attitude; have the highest standards of professionalism; and thrive in a work environment where everyones views are respected and valued.Key job responsibilities Complete risk analyses using complex data sets leveraging SQL Python etc. Balance use of data and judgment to drive faster action on complex and ambiguous risk investigations. Identify gaps and risks in Amazons current mechanisms and policies and recommend solutions to product/policy owning teams. Use data and/or technical skills to discover new ways to scale risk signals resulting in the identification of all bad actors. Break problems into manageable pieces prioritizing and delivering results in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment. Conduct large scale deep dives to derive insights about tactics used to conduct abuse on our stores identifying gaps and risk in Amazons current mechanisms systems and policies. Our team is comprised of experts in risk domains such as fraud cybersecurity data security insider risk regulatory compliance etc. with a strong dependence on data analysis and or technical skills. We complement specialized industry skills with broad risk experiences gathered to deliver results. - Bachelors degree in computer science engineering analytics mathematics statistics IT or equivalent or experience in information security and compliance- Knowledge of SQL- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level including: pivot tables macros index/match vlookup VBA data links etc.- Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and implement effective solutions- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences including senior leadership- Experience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standards- Experience with high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization- Proven ability to deliver complex projects across multiple teams.- Strong critical thinker with the vision to work both tactically and strategically.- Experience with utilizing and integrating Agentic AI solutions in daily workflows- Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Cybersecurity or other related discipline- Experience in fraud investigation abuse cyber-crimes or equivalent- Experience in data science machine learning or data mining- Demonstrated experience in areas such as digital forensics or internal investigations.- Experience in adjacent domain areas like network engineering Infosec software development for e-commerce or work involving software for APIs or web scraping.- Experience working with Threat Intelligence teams threat modeling and familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT).- CISSP Certification or experience in multiple CISSP knowledge areas- Language proficiency welcomed (Mandarin Russian Japanese or Spanish).Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status disability or other legally protected status.Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees supervisors and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees supervisors and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal state and local laws and Company policies. The base pay for this position ranges from $91800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
