Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: Miko's Gaming LLCSecurity OfficerSUPERVISOR: Gaming Machine Director or Designee KEY EMPLOYEE (Y/N): YESSUMMARY:Under general supervision of the Gaming Machine Director or Designee, ensures the safety and protection of casino patrons, employees, and assets in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all - inclusive.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Will be responsible to watch, protect, handle, use, or maintain gaming cash and/ or gaming revenue. Gaming cash means money used in the operation of class II and Ill gaming. This includes cash deposited or withdrawal from gaming operation's cage or vault, in its kiosk and ATMs, gaming machines/system bill acceptors, drop boxes, change boxes, tip boxes, or other locations, containers, and devices used to store or retrieve cash used for the conduct of class II and Ill games or accounted for as a cash asset of the gaming operation.Attends and participates in all security briefings and staff meetings.Patrols gaming floor conducts check for open machines, floor bank, drop doors and lot checks; identifies and reports suspicious activities to appropriate personnel.Assists in training and development of newly hired staff.Performs all duties, verifies age of patrons, opens doors, checks suspicious packages, and identifies intoxicated patrons.Verifies deposits, jackpot winnings and credits for accuracy, transports money.Controls access to restricted areas; checks for and reports all safety hazards.Performs inspections on a routine, daily, and monthly basis to include inspecting signs, aisles, walkways, fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.Assists patrons with lost and found and safety issues.Ensures employees adhere to all gaming policies and procedures; reports any violations to appropriate personnel.Controls emergency situations, which may include resetting alarms, evacuation and/or shutdown of building.Completes and verifies gaming paperwork, departmental logs, and reports.Communicates with other security personnel using codes and procedures if needed.Oversees the Lost and Found program by ensuring that all items found are bagged and tagged and accounted for through written documentation.Confers with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of Casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.Performs other duties as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Knowledge of tribal, federal, and state gaming, criminal, traffic, and civil code and laws. Knowledge of security operations, principles and practices including investigation, patrol, communications, records, community/public relations, and crime prevention.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other law enforcement/regulatory agencies, departmental staff, tribal officials, and the public. Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines. Ability to be persuasive and tactful in controversial situations.Ability to prepare accurate, complete, and legible reports and present detailed, accurate and objective oral presentations and response to questions.Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.Ability to make intelligent and effective decisions in routine and emergency situations. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED plus one year of security experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Complete and maintain CPR, AED, TIPS and First Aid certifications. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Tribal preference.WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for 8 hours or more. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Work is generally performed in a casino environment where employee may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to moderate/high noise levels, and second-hand smoke. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Prolonged standing and walking may be required between buildings and other areas; situations may occur where there is exposure to hazards or physical risk. Extended work hours including swing shifts, evenings, holidays, and weekends may be required.KEY EMPLOYEE:In the accordance to NIGC Regulation, 25 502.10, Key employees are subjected to fingerprinting and background checks.
