This individual will monitor premises, respond to incidents, and assist with de-escalation and support services in alignment with trauma-informed care principles.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure facility securityConduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior groundsRespond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergenciesEnforce facility policies regarding visitor access, contraband, and restricted areasMaintain detailed incident reports and logsSupport evacuation procedures and emergency response protocolsCollaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessaryProvide compassionate, respectful interaction with individuals experiencing behavioral health challengesAlways uphold confidentiality and HIPAA complianceQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience in security, law enforcement, or behavioral health settings preferredValid security license or OPOTA certification (if required by state)CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong observational and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and professional in high-stress situationsFamiliarity with de-escalation techniques is a plusMust pass background check and drug screeningWorking ConditionsBehavioral health facility with clients and office personnelExposure to unpredictable situations requiring discretion and professionalismCollaborative team environment with emphasis on safety and dignityPhysical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods May require lifting or physical intervention in emergency situations Must be able to respond quickly across facility grounds
