Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skills.Must be familiar with SASI Security Handbook.Ability to report for scheduled shift five minutes prior to shift beginning.Ability to work on holidays nights and weekends when are scheduled.Knowledge of emergency contact information.Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to always maintain professional demeanor.Ability to work on call as required. Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.Must have or able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and a Navajo Nation food handlers permit.Must pass federal background check required per 25 C.F.R. Part 63.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Complies with and supports all Shiprock Associated Schools policies and procedures.Integrates the SASI philosophy and mission statement into the area of work.Patrols the school buildings grounds parking lots and property to ensure they are all secure. Examines doors windows and gates to ensure they are all secure.Inspects school premises for possible signs of intrusion or signs of illegal entry into buildings property and grounds.Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering smoking carrying of forbidden articles or contraband and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts on school property.Watches for and reports any irregularities such as fire hazards leaking water pipes etc. Sounds alarms or calls the police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. After school working hours permits authorized school personnel to enter school property or premises.Keeps a daily log or written report of any property damage unusual occurrences malfunctioning of any equipment or machinery and incidences. Completes daily service reports.Patrols entire school grounds to make sure students do not leave premises without permission and that students conduct themselves in accordance with school rules and policies. Maintains and reports on all monthly inspection logs.Maintains communication with the Head of Security and updates on issues or concerns. Must keep all information concerning SASI employees students or any school business in strict confidence and not be discussed with any other person(s) other than Administrators involved.This should be covered under Standard Operating Procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned within your scope of practice.
