PASCO SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 11215 WEST LEWIS STPASCO WASHINGTON 99301PHONE Open Date: 11/07/2025 Application Deadline/Close Date:11/17/2025 at 4:00PM or until filled.First Screening: 11/17/2025POSITION:Security SpecialistLOCATION: Reynolds Middle SchoolSCHEDULE: 7.50 hrs/day Monday - Friday 180 day work yearSALARY: $24.07 - $25.19 -AA Degree $24.70 - $25.83 -BA Degree NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)AA Degree BA preferred.Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new computer programs as neededPrevious successful experience interacting with teenagersAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to operate camera equipment for badgesAbility to operate and program cameras for campus monitoring inside and outsideAbility to work well with students grades 7-8Good communication skills and ability to maintain accurate recordsAbility to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff students and patronsDemonstrated exemplary customer service and responsivenessAbility to follow safe work practices and proceduresAbility to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationshipsDemonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance recordMust work within designated bounds of authority and confidentialityAbility to follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessaryWillingness/ability to do clerical/office tasksValid Washington State Drivers License and complete 5 year driving abstract (available fromDepartment of Licensing)QUALIFICATIONSDESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required but would be useful to the position)Experience/training in security procedures and search and seizure lawsInterest/training/experience in counseling and guidanceBilingual/Biliterate English/SpanishSPECIFIC DUTIES:Assist administrators in maintaining campus security including cafeteria hallways and parking lotsOperate camera and computer equipment required to take student photos and produce ID badgesand maintain appropriate records for sameMaintain inventory of supplies for badging processSupervise students in time out room and after-school detention as requiredMonitor cameras during high activity periodsSupervise and maintain order in and about school property including restrooms parking lots hallwaysand areas on and near campus where students congregateMaintain visibility and be immediately available for assisting staff and students in routine andemergency situationsAssist in disciplinary actions as requested and/or requiredInvestigate all reported law violations and complete written incident reports as may be appropriateConfront intruders and report all observed violations (trespassers truants and law violators) toappropriate administratorWork cooperatively with other security officers and the Pasco Police Student Resource Officer inmaintaining a safe orderly environment for allConduct student mediations and interventions as neededAssist in supervising and maintaining order at after-school activities dances and athletic eventsas assignedModel appropriate and healthy adult behavior toward students staff and parentsNurture and give attention to students with special needsWork effectively within a context with multicultural and at-risk studentsSupport the buildings extra-curricular programPerform all other related duties as may be appropriately assignedLetters and applications received after closing date will only be accepted and screened if the position remains unfilled.NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATION:Pasco School District does not discriminate in any programs or activities on the basis of sex race creed age religion color national origin veteran or military status sexual orientation gender expression or identity disability or the use of trained guide dog or service animal.
