As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring financial sustainability, and advancing our mission. This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment to attend regular board meetings, participate in committee work, and contribute expertise, resources, and networks to support the organization's growth and impact.Major Functions of the Board of DirectorsArticulate Haven Hill's mission and purposeSupport Haven Hills' commitment to bring about societal change through public policySelect the Executive Director and evaluate her/hisEstablish short- and long-range goals for HavenEnsure adequateEnhance Haven Hills' publicRecruit and orient new Board Members and evaluate BoardBoard Members ExpectationsRespect, uphold and model the organization's bylaws, process, values, andResponsible for an annual financial gift to the organization, which includes a personal gift and/or personal fundraising goal during a fiscal year; and a commitment to support of the annualSupport and participate in fundraising activities established in the annual Development Plan and use proven, staff-assistedServe on a BoardAttend approximately six Board meetings and six Board committee meetings during the fiscalInterpret Haven Hills' work and values to theRepresent Haven Hills at public functions as assigned by the BoardAttend the annual Board retreat, where training, guidance and planning for the year takesExcuse herself/himself from discussion and voting on an issue where a conflict of interestHave questions or want to connect with us?
