Senior Accountant at Aston Carter
JOB DESCRIPTION
Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP, lead closing activities, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Review balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate and resolve variances.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support business decisions.
- Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and Operations teams.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
- High level understanding of Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formatting on spreadsheets, and formulas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in the manufacturing, real estate, or equipment rental industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position is fully onsite in Golden Valley, working closely with a team of four people in the Accounting department.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
