Senior Accountant at Avon Protection

Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Cleveland OHBusiness Unit: Head ProtectionPurpose of Position:This role will be reporting to the Head Protection SBU Accounting Manager. The main responsibility of this position is to play a significant part in the general ledger and month end close process. The person filing this role will also work with the group finance team on reporting requirements and support any financial audit requests that need to be completed. This role will also work closely with other departments when needed and will own the Concur credit card process.Essential Duties and/or Functions:Complete general ledger and month-end closingBank reconciliationsWork with Payroll department to prepare payroll accruals and entriesKeep accrual balances accurate and supported with strong back-upMaintain journal entry workbook logging all journal entries for month end with adequate support for audit purposesTrack all intercompany transactionsMaintain accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactionsCommunicate between all companies when transactions are posted from Team Wendy side to ensure continuity throughout the businessValidate with Group that all intercompany accounts are in-balance monthlyOwn Concur credit card program for Team WendyManage company credit card disbursementTrain new hires on Concur policies and proceduresProcess credit card paymentsReview expense reports for completeness and accuracyEnter Concur transactions into ledger on a monthly basisWork with Research & Development team to keep all funded projects up-to-date with accurate revenue recognition billing and forecastingAssist in any financial audit requestsWork with the global group team on any reporting requirementsSupport other Accounting and Finance functions when needed AR AP Financial AnalysisAd Hoc items and other projects as neededRequired Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree preferably in accounting or financeMinimum of 4 years experience in an accounting/finance role preferably in a similar roleProven record of preparing & presenting management accounts & completing external financial account auditsStrong interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite Excel and PowerPointAbility to work effectively with other functional areas of the businessWillingness to travel as neededPreferred/Desired Skills or Experiences:Experience in a manufacturing environmentCPA and/or MBA is a strong plusBackground in IFS or other ERP systemsAbout Avon Technologies:We are a world leader in protective equipment with a reputation for innovative design high-performance quality and specialist materials expertise.
