Senior Accountant

The Company is looking for someone with strong accounting and analytical skills that has the capabilities and desire to grow in the Hussmann Accounting and Finance Organization. The senior accountant will be responsible for the analysis of costs, trends and variances, as well as, collaboration with others on current processes that will lead to providing insight and recommendations to the Manager of Compensation Accounting & Treasury and other functional leaders and executives in the organization.

Responsibilities include accounting (journal entries and reconciliations), reporting, analysis and trending of various key accounts related to Payroll, Health & Welfare, Pension and Other Compensation and Benefit Areas for Actuals, Forecast and the Business Plan. In addition, responsible for working with HR and the businesses on issue resolution and adjustments for these respective areas. Responsible for other general accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to, journal entries and reconciliations related to prepaids, relocation, tariffs and miscellaneous accruals. Responsible for working with a Business Partner Leader and their direct reports on their corporate department cost centers. This includes working with the Business Partner Leader on the generation of the department forecast and plan, as well reviewing actuals to make sure the monthly results are accurately stated. This position should also support the Business Partner Leader in analysis of the department spend and preparation of presentations required to review the results of this department. Responsible for assisting with the 401k and pension benefit plan audits, which includes providing audit requests and reviewing the plan 5500's and financial statements. Responsible for assisting in the completion of other duties as required.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, 3-5+ years of ascending experience, CPA a plus, experience in a Shared Services/Corporate Accounting environment a plus, working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CoPilot (Proficient using v-lookups, pivots and other formulas in Excel). Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor XA, Onestream and Blackline experience a plus. Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented. Ability to generate new ideas / solutions and think independently; strong research and analytical skills. Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage competing priorities. High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive employee and compensation data.
