Position Title: Senior Accountant Reports To: Financial Manager/Accounting Supervisor Position is: Full Time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday Supervisor Role: No Salary, Exempt Overall Descriptions of the Position: A Senior Accountant at The Gori Law Firm will work closely with the Financial Manager/Accounting Supervisor and managing partner to assist in managing, maintaining, and auditing financial records for the Firm. Skills/Abilities:
  • 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience.
  • CPA certification and work experience.
  • Competent to Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skill set in:
    • MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe
    • Typing, inputting, and processing numbers
    • Mathematical capability to process fractions and percentages
    • Proficient knowledge of financial recordkeeping and accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Global understanding of current accounting practices.
  • Punctual and predictable attendance.
  • Job duties must be regularly performed in the office with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Duties (including, but not limited to):
  • Conduct internal maintenance of company financial statements.
  • Prepare accounting journal entries.
  • Assist Financial Manager/Accounting Supervisor to maintain division & project profitability tracking.
  • Assist Financial Manager/Accounting Supervisor with maintaining client trust account.
  • Work with vendors to complete annual audits and tax returns.
  • Provide reporting information to Financial Manager/Accounting Supervisor and Firm management to aid in financial decision-making.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Education, Certificates and Licenses:
  • Illinois CPA certification, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Three or more years of accounting experience required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
