The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to provide strategic and operational accounting support to a growing portfolio of healthcare organizations and startup ventures. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who enjoys mentoring teams, improving financial processes, and providing high-level oversight without the demands of a full-time executive position.


The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of healthcare financial operations, startup scalability, and compliance, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Provide variance analysis and financial insights to leadership
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

Healthcare Accounting & Compliance

  • Provide guidance on healthcare-specific financial matters (e.g., reimbursements, capitation, multi-entity structures)
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid considerations
  • Support audit readiness and interface with external auditors

Startup & Growth Advisory

  • Advise leadership on financial strategy, scaling operations, and cost controls
  • Assist with entity structuring, financial modeling, and growth planning
  • Evaluate financial systems and recommend process improvements
  • Support due diligence for acquisitions, expansions, or new ventures

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

  • Assess and strengthen internal controls and accounting workflows
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices
  • Assist in establishing KPIs and financial dashboards

Mentorship & Team Support

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting and billing teams
  • Support training and development of internal staff
  • Act as a resource for complex accounting or financial issues
Requirements:

Qualities That Make You A Great Fit:

  • Active or retired CPA with strong professional background
  • 10+ years of accounting/finance experience (healthcare experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience working with startups or high-growth organizations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing, reimbursements, or value-based care models is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a flexible, advisory capacity
