Senior Accounting Operations Specialist
The Senior Accounting Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in reviewing equipment finance transaction documents and ensuring their accuracy prior to booking in the Lease/Loan operating system. This role involves managing activities related to servicing a portfolio of contracts, performing account reconciliations, and providing customer service support. The specialist will also assist in developing and documenting accounting processes and support software testing for system upgrades.
Responsibilities:
- Review equipment finance transaction documents for accuracy before booking.
- Perform regular account reconciliations and related accounting functions.
- Provide exceptional customer service support via email and phone.
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Support software testing for Lease/Loan operating system upgrades.
- Assist with the preparation of financial and ad hoc reports.
- Process incoming and outgoing payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Audit transactions for proper classification and accuracy.
- Perform all servicing activities, including payment posting, restructures, charge-offs, and contract terminations.
- Calculate payoffs for loans and leases independently.
- Provide assistance with sales/use tax and personal property tax inquiries.
- Assist with requests from auditors, regulators, and internal business units.
- Conduct business with a high ethical standard and adherence to company policies.
- Foster strong relationships with customers and colleagues by knowing and using their names frequently.
Essential Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
- 3-4+ years of experience in leasing or financial services, with a focus on accounting operations.
- Proficiency in month-end closing, general ledger, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with balance sheet analysis and process improvement.
- Familiarity with journal entry processes and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a team located in Maple Grove, with the headquarters in Golden Valley. The role involves a 60/40 split between operations and accounting tasks, with the potential to engage in more project-based work as you become more established. The work schedule is predominantly in-office, five days a week, with the possibility of one work-from-home day to accommodate the right candidate. Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
