Position Title: Senior Accounting SpecialistLocation: Rockville MD Employment Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: Mid-Senior***Please read the job requirements thoughtfully and do NOT apply unless you are commutable to the Rockville MD area and open to on-site work 3x per week***About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience strong proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks and a track record of strong tenure and reliability in previous roles. Industry background is flexible we are primarily focused on finding a capable and committed professional.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting activities including AP/AR journal entries expense reporting and account reconciliations.Maintain and update financial records with accuracy and timeliness.Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports and supporting schedules.Assist with budgeting forecasting and variance analysis as needed.Support month-end and year-end close processes.Monitor and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.Provide support during audits and assist with documentation requests.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve workflow efficiency.Qualifications3 years of accounting experience (AP/AR general ledger reconciliations month-end close etc.).Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUPs conditional formulas etc.).Proficient with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).Demonstrated stable work history and consistent tenure with previous employers.Strong attention to detail organization and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred but not required.$80000 - $120000 a yearRequired Experience:Senior IC Key Skills Account Payable,Invoicing,Journal Entry,Data Entry,Accounting & Finance,Tax Returns,QuickBooks,General Ledger Accounting,Microsoft Excel,Reporting,Payroll,Financial statement,Account Receivable,ACCA,CPA Experience: years Vacancy: 1
