POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Activities Coordinator position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County Inc. a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. We are a place where you can belong and become.We are genuine: we value you and embrace your individuality.We are hopeful: we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world.We are nurturing: we support you in your journey to develop your full potential.We are determined: above all else we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Planning coordinating implementing and evaluating AOA (Active Older Adults) programsAchieving budget reach and volunteer engagement goalsManaging and supporting AOA volunteersSubmitting required reports and completing assignments professionally and on timeCreating an infrastructure for program deliveryCreating and maintaining a monthly calendar of eventsEstablishing implementing and maintaining community partnershipsEnsuring all classes are staffed and subbed when necessaryEnsuring all sites have the necessary supplies and equipment when applicableFacilitating the DAXKO online registration procedures if applicable (DAXKO is the YMCAs course management software)Planning special events: Wellness Day Demo Days outings celebrations etc.Participating in community partner sites eventsHiring and supervising AOA InstructorsAttending staff meetingsExceeding the service standards of the YMCA of Collier County for the Healthy Living Department:Meet and greet every memberLearn and use members namesAsk participants whether they are meeting goals and respond with appropriate referralsProvide exemplary service to all participants equallyUpholding professional standards of conduct at all times:Behave professionally with staff and participants at all timesAdhere to the program dress codeReport for work as assignedBe on time and attentiveComply with all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Collier CountyMaintaining all required certificationsAdhering to all risk management and safety protocolsThis position will work at both YMCA of Collier County locations: North Campus (Naples) and South Campus (Marco Island)QUALIFICATIONS:College degree in social work psychology sociology or related fieldCurrent CPR/FA/AED certifications2-3 years experience in health education wellness or adult educationBasic computer knowledgeExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong communication skillsTeaching training and public speaking experience preferredBilingual candidate preferredAbility to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
