Your core responsibility will be designing, developing, and fine-tuning the AI models that underpin our platform, delivering personalized and interactive educational resources to our diverse user base. You will collaborate closely with our software engineering team, product managers, and external academic partners to understand their requirements and turn them into practical AI solutions. Your expertise in machine learning, AI infrastructure, and MLOps will be essential in building a robust, efficient, and scalable AI backend. Your role will also include working on retrieval-augmented generation infrastructure and prompt engineering tasks, and you will contribute significantly to the establishment and maintenance of best practices for MLOps in our team. As a founding member of our team, your input will not only shape our AI systems, but also influence the direction and culture of our engineering team. This is a hybrid role and can accommodate both remote and in-office work.Example deliverablesDevelop, maintain, and optimize the virtual LLM layerImplement effective strategies for token managementCollaborate with the development team to integrate LLMs into our productsRegularly monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arisePropose and implement upgrades and improvements based on the latest AI technologies and trendsCollaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs and implement AI solutionsRelevant experienceMaster’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fieldExperience in AI solution development and deployment1-3+ years of experience in software development building production-grade software, and working with one or more popular deep learning frameworksRelevant skillsStrong experience in building, training, and deploying AI models, particularly Large Language ModelsFamiliarity with tokenization and token management in the context of LLMsProficiency in machine learning frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorchUnderstanding of cloud architecture and experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) specifically relating to AIStrong programming skills in PythonExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe annual salary range for this role is $130,000 – $180,000.
